  • Jollywood Nights 2026: New Monsters, Inc. Characters and a Lounge Worth a Look

Jollywood Nights 2026: New Monsters, Inc. Characters and a Lounge Worth a Look

Holiday glam or a character hunt? Jollywood Nights is giving Disney fans another reason to debate how to spend a holiday evening at Hollywood Studios.

Two new faces and a new place to unwind

Disney lists George Sanderson and Needleman from Monsters, Inc. as new character experiences for the 2026 event. Also new is Checkin’ It Twice Lounge in Animation Courtyard, featuring specialty beverages, a DJ and entertainment.

For the NRDA crowd, that creates two very different priorities: chasing a character photo or making time to settle into the evening’s atmosphere. Which one gets your attention first?

    The planning basics

Jollywood Nights runs on select dates from November 7, 2026, through January 5, 2027. Event hours are 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.; ticket holders can enter as early as 5:30 p.m. on their ticket date. A separate event ticket is required, with availability varying by date. Food and beverages cost extra, and experiences are subject to change.

    The NRDA take

Before buying, decide what would make the night worthwhile for you. If characters are the draw, start with your must-meet list. If the lounge is the attraction, leave room in the budget for what you may order. We have not tried this new lounge, so this is a planning preview, not a review or a promise that it is worth the ticket price.

  • Your Animal Kingdom Afternoon Escape: Nomad Lounge Adds Reservations

Your Animal Kingdom Afternoon Escape: Nomad Lounge Adds Reservations

An Animal Kingdom afternoon does not have to be all about getting to the next ride. If Nomad Lounge is on your list for a slower stop, there are two dates worth knowing, plus a limited-time Passholder offer already underway.

    Mark October 28 for booking

Disney confirms that Nomad Lounge will begin accepting reservations on October 28, 2026, for seatings beginning November 8, 2026. Before November 8, seating remains on a walk-up basis. From November 8, Disney says reservations are highly recommended but not required, with limited reservation and walk-up availability.

That gives planners another way to build a lounge stop into an Animal Kingdom day. It does not guarantee a table, so check availability for your date.

    The $49 Passholder offer

From October 20 through December 18, 2026, Annual Passholders can choose two eligible small plates and two eligible beverages for $49, plus tax and gratuity, daily from 3 p.m. until closing.

Disney lists examples including Chinese Five-Spice Glazed Chicken Wings, Traveller’s Provisions and Wild Mushroom Dumplings, plus selected alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks. This is a select-menu offer, not a choice of everything on the menu.

The dine-in offer is valid for Passholders and up to three guests. The Charcuterie and Cheese Board is excluded, as are substitutions and add-ons. It cannot be combined with dining plans or other discounts, offers or promotions. Bring your valid Annual Pass ID in My Disney Experience and government-issued photo ID. Park admission and applicable park-reservation requirements still apply.

    The NRDA take

For those of us who enjoy a Disney day with room to sit down and take it in, the useful part is having another planning option. The offer may be worth comparing against what you would actually order, especially since tax and gratuity are extra.

This is a planning update, not our firsthand review of the offer. Would you reserve an afternoon lounge break, or keep your Animal Kingdom day spontaneous? Join us on our NRDA social channels.

  • Polynesian Refurbishment Extends Into 2027: What to Know Before Your Stay

Polynesian Refurbishment Extends Into 2027: What to Know Before Your Stay

A Polynesian stay is a big Disney splurge. If you are planning one this winter, check the construction notice before you picture a completely finished resort.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort refurbishment is now expected to continue through early 2027, according to October 20 reporting from BlogMickey and WDWNT, both quoting Disney’s revised guest notice. The previous timeline ran through 2026. Disney’s official resort page also flags ongoing construction and refurbishment.

What that means for your stay

The updated notice covers work at the Polynesian Village Resort and Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, including the front entrance roadway. Some views may be affected, and guests should allow extra arrival and departure time. Most dining, pools and amenities are expected to remain available.

That does not mean every room or every visit will have the same experience. Before booking, ask Disney about the work near your room category and the facilities that matter most to you. If a particular view or quiet afternoon at the resort is a major part of your vacation, make that part of the conversation.

Keep an eye on Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace

The notice quoted by WDWNT still lists the outdoor Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace closure through late October. That is a window, not a confirmed reopening day. Do not build a visit around an assumed return date without checking the latest official listing.

    The NRDA take

This is a useful planning update, not a reason to automatically cross the Polynesian off your list. The question is what you want from the stay. If you plan to spend plenty of time enjoying the resort itself, construction deserves more weight in your decision.

Would construction change your resort choice, or would you still book the Poly? Come join the conversation on our NRDA social channels.

Updated October 21, 2026. Timeline and guest-impact details are attributed to the reporting linked above, quoting Disney’s notice. No exact completion date has been announced in those sources. This is a news update, not a firsthand construction report.

  • Your Disney PhotoPass Photos Can Now Go Straight to Shutterfly

Your Disney PhotoPass Photos Can Now Go Straight to Shutterfly

You paid for those Disney photos. Give them somewhere to live besides a camera roll.

Disney and Shutterfly announced a new partnership on October 20, 2026, giving Walt Disney World and Disneyland guests an optional way to send eligible Disney PhotoPass photos directly to a linked Shutterfly account. From there, they can turn those memories into photo books, cards, ornaments and other personalized keepsakes.

    What actually changed?

Instead of downloading qualifying PhotoPass pictures and uploading them again, guests can connect their MyDisney and Shutterfly accounts and let the eligible photos sync. Shutterfly is also offering Disney Parks-inspired designs, including collections themed to Walt Disney World’s four parks.

Shutterfly’s FAQ says purchased, eligible PhotoPass photos are the ones that sync. Linking accounts does not make unpaid PhotoPass pictures free. Eligibility and account status can affect which images appear.

    How to link your photos

    1. Visit Shutterfly’s official Disney PhotoPass guide.
    2. Sign in to your Shutterfly account, or create one if you choose.
    3. Follow the prompts to connect your MyDisney account.
    4. Wait for your eligible purchased photos to appear. Shutterfly says syncing typically takes less than 10 minutes, but guests should allow up to 24 hours. An email lets you know when they are ready.

A little Disney on your bookshelf

A photo book of your favorite park day, a holiday card with that castle picture, or an ornament marking a family trip: this is a practical reason to revisit photos that might otherwise disappear into the scroll.

Before ordering, check the final product price, shipping and any offer terms. Photo storage is subject to Shutterfly’s policies and account requirements, so keep your own copies of the pictures that matter to you.

The account-linking launch covers Walt Disney World and Disneyland. A similar experience for Disney Cruise Line and Aulani is planned for early 2027, according to the announcement.

What would you actually make with your Disney photos: a book, an ornament, or a wall full of memories?

  • Christmas Party Opening Night Is Sold Out. Pick Your Date Before Planning the Rest.

Christmas Party Opening Night Is Sold Out. Pick Your Date Before Planning the Rest.

The Christmas outfits can wait. If Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is part of your Disney World plans, check the ticket calendar first.

We checked Disney’s official ticket calendar on October 18, 2026. Nine of the 25 party nights are marked sold out, including opening night on November 8. That leaves 16 dates showing availability at the time of our check. Availability can change.

    Which nights are sold out?

    • November: 8, 9, 12, 13, 17 and 24.
    • December: 1, 20 and 22.

This updates The DIS’s October 17 report of eight sold-out nights. November 8 now also carries a Sold Out label on Disney’s calendar.

    Which dates still show tickets?

    • November: 15, 19, 20, 25, 27 and 29.
    • December: 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17 and 18.

For the standard ages-10-and-up ticket selection, the lowest remaining price displayed was $194 before tax on November 15 and 19. Check your own party size and any eligible discounts directly with Disney before making plans.

    The NRDA planning takeaway

Choose a party night that works for your group before arranging the rest of that day around it. A dinner reservation does not secure party admission, and a regular Magic Kingdom ticket does not replace this separate event ticket.

The party runs from 7 p.m. to midnight. Disney says party ticketholders may enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 p.m. on their ticket date without an additional day ticket or park reservation. That gives you an earlier start, but it is worth thinking about how much of your evening you want to spend sitting down for dinner.

If your first choice is gone, compare the remaining dates before changing other reservations. Disney states that these event tickets are nonrefundable and nontransferable, so check the date carefully before purchasing.

Would you build your trip around a Christmas party night, or enjoy the holiday decorations during a regular park visit?

  • Planning EPCOT in 2027? Rose & Crown Is Closing for Maintenance

Planning EPCOT in 2027? Rose & Crown Is Closing for Maintenance

If a stop at Rose & Crown is part of your EPCOT routine, put this on your 2027 planning checklist. Disney confirms that both the Dining Room and Pub will temporarily close starting January 11, 2027.

    Both locations are included

The closure applies to the table-service Dining Room and the Pub. Disney describes the work as planned maintenance and expects both to reopen later in 2027. An exact reopening date has not been announced.

That matters whether you were planning a sit-down meal or a quick pub stop in the United Kingdom pavilion. For a visit on or after January 11, plan another option and check Disney’s current notices before making dining plans.

What we know, and what we don’t

    • Closure begins: January 11, 2027.
    • Locations: Rose & Crown Dining Room and Rose & Crown Pub.
    • Expected return: Later in 2027, with no exact date announced.

The notice does not name nearby Yorkshire County Fish Shop. We should not assume that counter is closing too, or promise its future operating schedule from this announcement.

This is a future closure, not a notice that Rose & Crown has already shut its doors. Disney has not detailed the work in the notices checked October 15.

NRDA planning tip: Keep this as a reminder when choosing your 2027 EPCOT dining stops. A reopening date will be more useful than guessing how long the work might last.

  • Your Next Batuu Build Just Got an Upgrade

Your Next Batuu Build Just Got an Upgrade

If a Savi’s Workshop build is on your Hollywood Studios wish list, there is something new to consider before choosing your hilt. Disney has announced a fresh look for one theme and upgraded effects across the lineup.

A new look, plus changes beyond the hilt

Available from October 5, 2026, the updated Protection and Defense theme features white and gold details inspired by the High Republic era. The announcement applies to Walt Disney World and Disneyland.

The enhanced chassis and blade extend across all hilt themes. Disney describes smoother activation, improved audio and thermal-cutting, spinning and deflection effects. Special “cracked” kyber crystals can also enable a color change with a flick of the wrist.

What to check before committing to a build

A purchase is required, and Disney strongly encourages advance reservations. Confirm the current price, availability and what is included directly with Disney before booking. The announcement does not establish whether these new components work with an older lightsaber, so do not assume your existing build can be upgraded piece by piece.

For a first build, the practical choice is still the design you want to take home. For someone who already owns a saber, it is worth separating the appeal of a new hilt from the effects before deciding whether another workshop visit belongs in the budget.

Planning the rest of that park day? Our Hollywood Studios food-break guide offers another planning stop.

Your turn: Would the white-and-gold design tempt you, or is your current lightsaber already the one?

  • Jollywood’s Opening Night Is Full. Here’s Your Backup Plan.

Jollywood’s Opening Night Is Full. Here’s Your Backup Plan.

The holiday outfit can wait. The party date deserves a look now.

Disney Jollywood Nights on November 7, 2026, is sold out. We checked Disney’s official ticket calendar on October 12, and opening night is marked “Sold Out.” That does not mean the whole season is full.

    Two dates to check first

At our check, Saturday, November 14 was available at $179 for ages 10 and up, and Monday, November 16 was available at $169, before tax. Other November dates were available too. Availability can change, so use Disney’s live ticket calendar before building the rest of your evening around a date.

If your trip dates are fixed, start there. If they are flexible, November 16 was the less expensive of those two alternatives at this check. Confirm your party ticket before making other plans that depend on it.

    Arrive before the party starts

The separately ticketed event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with ticket-holder entry beginning at 5:30 p.m. on your event date. You do not need an additional daytime park ticket to enter during that ticket-holder entry window.

That earlier entry gives you breathing room before the evening’s entertainment. Keep dinner timing in mind so a long meal does not eat into the party time you paid for.

A new lounge for the holiday list

Disney has confirmed Checkin’ It Twice Lounge in Animation Courtyard, with specialty beverages, a DJ and entertainment. Food and beverages cost extra. The official event page still asks guests to check back for more menu details, so we are keeping specific drink and food recommendations off the list for now.

Jollywood Nights runs on select dates from November 7, 2026, through January 5, 2027. See Disney’s official event guide for the full lineup and conditions. Entertainment and offerings can change.

Also planning a holiday ride night? Our holiday coaster guide explains the different seasonal start dates.

Which would you choose: a Saturday holiday party or a less expensive Monday?

  • Your Disney Coaster Playlist Is Going Full Christmas

Your Disney Coaster Playlist Is Going Full Christmas

Christmas music on a roller coaster? Walt Disney World is making that a two-park possibility this holiday season. But the dates matter: the Muppets start celebrating weeks before the Guardians do.

    Two coasters, two opening dates

Hollywood Studios: November 4, 2026 through January 6, 2027. Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets adds its Obligatory Holiday Overlay, with four seasonal tracks and festive touches to the courtyard and rehearsal story. Jennifer Hudson and Cyndi Lauper join the musical lineup.

EPCOT: November 25, 2026 through January 6, 2027. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind switches to three shuffled holiday songs, including “Christmas Wrapping” by The Waitresses. You are not choosing your own track, so the soundtrack is part of the surprise.

The detail to put in your trip notes

For an early-November trip, plan around the Muppets’ holiday start. If you want both seasonal coaster experiences during the same visit, the shared window begins November 25. Keep that distinction handy before building a whole park day around holiday music.

These are seasonal changes to existing attractions, not two new coasters. Check Disney’s current attraction information and operating hours before your visit.

Combining an EPCOT ride day with an evening performance? Our Candlelight Processional planning update covers another piece of the holiday calendar.

The NRDA question: Are you all in for Christmas music at coaster speed, or would you rather keep the regular playlist?

Sources: Disney’s October 6 announcements for Cosmic Rewind and the Muppets’ holiday overlay.

  • Your Hollywood Studios Night Just Got a Resistance Upgrade

Your Hollywood Studios Night Just Got a Resistance Upgrade

That “one more ride” argument just got a little stronger. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is now listed among the attractions available during Extended Evening Theme Park Hours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The addition was reported October 9. We checked Disney’s current official lineup on October 10 and confirmed Rise is on it.

Who gets the extra evening time?

This benefit is for registered guests of Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts and other participating hotels, including the Swan, Dolphin, Swan Reserve and Shades of Green. It operates on select nights at select parks. Valid park admission is still required.

Being at Hollywood Studios late does not, by itself, make someone eligible. Check your hotel against Disney’s participating-hotel list, then check the official park calendar for your actual date.

A reason to rethink the end of your park day

If you qualify, Rise gives you another option when deciding which attractions to save for the evening. That could make a daytime break and a later return worth considering instead of trying to fit everything into one uninterrupted stretch.

Build in a backup, though. Disney says the attraction lineup and operating schedule can change, and rides may not always be operational. Inclusion on this list is not a promise of a walk-on or a particular wait time.

For the middle of that park day, our Hollywood Studios food-break guide can help you think through a pause before the evening plans.

The NRDA question: Would Rise convince you to stay late, or does your perfect Disney night end with dinner and an early bedtime?

Sources: Disney’s official Extended Evening Hours page, checked October 10, 2026, and October 9 reporting on the lineup addition.
